Setupidity is being built for developers who need to create dependable Windows MSI installers without making Windows the center of their build system.

The goal is straightforward: describe an installer once, then build it from Windows, Linux, or macOS. The result is a native Windows Installer package that works with the deployment tools Windows administrators already use.

What we are optimizing for

  • Portable authoring. Local development and CI should use the same project definition on every supported host.
  • A native result. Cross-platform authoring should not mean replacing MSI with a proprietary bootstrapper or runtime.
  • Predictable ownership. The Individual license belongs to one person. The Business license covers one legal organization without seats to count.
  • A durable purchase. Both licenses are one-time purchases with perpetual use and every future update released while Setupidity continues to be developed.

Setupidity is still in development and is not available to purchase today. The roadmap shows the customer-facing direction, and the documentation records what is currently supported.
