This roadmap describes the product direction customers can plan around. It is not the internal backlog, a promise of a particular feature, or a release-date commitment.
Now — establish the dependable core
- Build native Windows Installer packages from Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Keep authoring declarative, reviewable, and suitable for automated builds.
- Produce deterministic diagnostics for unsupported or invalid projects.
- Validate output against representative WiX 5 packages and Windows installs.
Next — make everyday shipping comfortable
- Broaden the supported MSI authoring surface based on real application needs.
- Improve the first-project experience, examples, and migration guidance.
- Make signing, release automation, and installer verification easier to integrate into existing pipelines.
- Replace illustrative product imagery with verified screenshots of actual Setupidity output.
Later — deepen the deployment workflow
- Explore richer upgrade, bundle, and enterprise deployment scenarios.
- Improve diagnostics and inspection tools for larger installer projects.
- Expand integrations where they remove repeatable release work without making projects dependent on a hosted service.
How this roadmap is maintained
Owner: Setupidity Product Management.
The roadmap is reviewed monthly and whenever a release changes product direction. Only validated, customer-relevant themes are published here. Work moves between horizons as evidence and dependencies change; committed behavior is documented only when it ships. Dated announcements appear in Updates, and supported behavior belongs in the documentation.
